Club Pilates: A Perfect Balance
Four years ago, Club Pilates studio owners Doug and Kris Harris were looking for space for their first location and decided on Promenade on Providence, which provided enough space for members to work out and not be cramped. The South Providence location is one of the largest studios within the franchise in terms of square footage.
Doug and Kris opened the Pilates studio to help others with a better, safer exercise format. They stumbled onto Pilates through a cycling friend who used it to recover from an injury and found it supported his ability to be more competitive on the bike. Club Pilates lead instructor Stacey Ransehousen has been in the fitness industry for more than 20 years starting with a Pilates certification, followed by yoga and barre.
All of the classes at Club Pilates are reformer based. They offer four different class levels with seven different class types. If classes aren’t your speed, they also offer private training sessions. Need something virtual? Check out the CPGO online platform which runs at $19.99 per month.
Classes include:
- Reformer Flow – signature contemporary reformer class
- Cardio Sculpt – energetic cardio Pilates class
- CP Control – barre & Pilates fusion class
- CP Center & Balance – stretching class
- CP Restore – Pilates massage with foam rolling & TriggerPoint Therapy
- CP Suspend –- defy gravity with Pilates & TRX
- CP F.I.T. – heart-pumping Functional Interval Training class
Club Pilates serves a diverse age range because they believe that “Pilates is for everyBODY.” Every class at Club Pilates can be customized to accommodate every fitness level. Each instructor at Club Pilates has 500+ hours of comprehensive Pilates training, so they are well trained to teach safe, effective group classes, as well as private sessions.
In regard to COVID-19, they have a “your space, your place” mentality, with no shared equipment. Each person has their own workout station to use throughout class. Each member is required to complete a COVID waiver prior to taking any of their studio classes and a Health Check Affirmation is required every 24 hours when booking classes. They require face masks at all times while in the studio, are taking temperatures and are using a contactless check-in process to minimize contact.
The Harrises say their favorite thing about being at Promenade is the diversity of the neighboring businesses. They have also gotten the chance to partner with Sun and Ski & Loft for a few events throughout the years which they have enjoyed.
“Club Pilates provides excellent fitness offerings for our neighbors,” said Cara Sanders, Promenade on Providence property manager. “We love how it appeals to a wide variety of ages and fitness levels.”
