Pilates improves flexibility, strength, balance, and posture by targeting all the major body parts. As opposed to traditional exercise, Pilates exercises target deep muscles in the abs and back. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced athlete, Pilates can help you achieve your fitness goals and improve your overall well-being. In this blog, we spoke with Lisa from Club Pilates to explore the benefits of Pilates and to get to know her more.
What is Reformer Pilates?
Pilates is a system of full-body, low-impact exercises that challenge your core – abs, back, glutes and more with every movement. Pilates develops flexibility, coordination and lean muscle throughout the entire body. Our main piece of equipment is called the Reformer – you can sit, kneel, stand and lie on it to perform various Pilates exercises. It provides resistance training while supporting your body and protecting the joints.
What is your favorite part about being at Promenade?
Promenade is such a nice grouping of stores and restaurants – my favorite part is the green area in the middle of the Shopping Center.
In what ways does Pilates motivate you, in and out of class?
What makes Pilates so effective is that it is a system of exercises that stretch muscles that are tight and strengthen muscles that are typically weak. No matter what else you are doing for exercise or your level of fitness – Pilates will help improve and strengthen your movements.
How long have you been teaching Pilates?
I have been teaching Pilates Reformer and Mat Classes for over 20 years. I have been teaching different styles of Group Exercise for over 30 years. Our instructors are comprehensively certified.
Do you offer Pilates classes for all levels?
YES! Pilates is appropriate for beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. All of our classes incorporate the Reformer but we have class levels listed as: Level 1: Foundations, Level 1.5 Progression, Level 2 Evolution, Level 2.5 Most Advanced class.
What are benefits of Pilates?
Club Pilates will help you move better, feel better, live better. Pilates will help tone and strengthen, prevent injury, boost flexibility and improve balance.
