Charlotte Fitness Equipment: Bringing the Gym to You
Fifteen years after opening his store at Promenade on Providence, owner John Ward is, remarkably, working with the same group of sales and service professionals at Charlotte Fitness Equipment.
That continuity and consistency of service, he says, has been a big part of the company’s success. Charlotte Fitness Equipment sells home gym and commercial fitness equipment such as treadmills, ellipticals, exercise bikes and rowing machines. The locally owned company focuses on delivering high-touch service to its customers, including repair and maintenance long after the point of purchase.
“We cover every touch point of the consumer experience,” says Ward. “It’s all handled by us, from purchase to installation to any service needs that come up.”
Ward opened the Promenade location after working for companies like Dick’s Sporting Goods in merchandising and retail management, recognizing that there was an opportunity in the market for a high-quality specialty fitness store. Today, Charlotte Fitness Equipment serves consumers who are ready to ditch the monthly gym expense and start exercising in the comfort of their own homes. It also provides equipment to commercial customers such as apartment communities and schools.
“Charlotte Fitness Equipment has always prioritized quality equipment and exceptional service, and that’s why they’ve continued to have success year after year at Promenade,” says Katie Roberts, property manager at Childress Klein.
Customers who visit Charlotte Fitness Equipment will find an array of specialty fitness machines to try out, including brands such as MATRIX, TRUE Fitness, Landice and Horizon Fitness.
“We’re fairly selective about the equipment that we carry because our customers are making an investment in their health, and we want to share our knowledge and experience and make sure it stands the test of time,” Ward says.
Charlotte Fitness Equipment has long-term customers who made a purchase years ago but continue to reach out to the staff for periodic maintenance or repairs – or to add a new piece of equipment to their home gyms.
“It’s very gratifying to see the impact it’s had on their well-being and how much they enjoy having their own personal workout room,” he says.Share:
