The team over at Condado Tacos tells us all about what we can expect at their second Charlotte location, from favorite tacos to their hours of operation.
When did the first Condado Tacos open?
Condado Tacos opened in 2014 with its first location in the Short North neighborhood near Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio. Since its founding, this award-winning taco joint has grown to 45 restaurants in 16 markets: in metro areas such as Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Detroit, Indianapolis, Lexington, Nashville, Pittsburgh, Louisville and of course Charlotte — with many more on the way in 2023.
No other restaurant brand has done what Condado features, which is: original, hand painted mural art from floor to ceiling done by local Charlotte artists and themed specifically to the location.
What type of Tacos can people find at Condado?
Clean, fresh, preservative free food drives the Condado menu. In addition to the signature taco suggestions including Lucy’s Fire and Blue Dream, both made with secret shells, the menu includes innovative ingredients such as Tajin, cilantro-lime aioli, jicama and Condado’s own Kewl Ranch taco shell.
There are tacos for everyone, including vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options, starting at $4.00. As a build-your-own taco concept, guests can top a variety of taco shells with their choice of proteins, toppings and sauces.
Does Condado Tacos offer catering? What type of catering is available?
Condado Tacos offers so many catering options for office lunches, home parties and even weddings and graduations. We are a delicious catering option for many occasions, and we have various price points to make the budget work for practically every offsite event.
Your first location is South End, why Promenade for your second?
Being such a growing and vibrant area, Charlotte is a natural extension of our Southeast expansion as a brand. We plan to build out the Charlotte market one restaurant at a time, and after opening our first area location in South End in May 2022, we are excited to open at the Promenade, it has everything we need to make our restaurant successful, and the kind of people who visit there are the perfect fit for us.
We will be opening Promenade during summer which is a perfect time for new guests to try us, and we have large patio dining that is a perfect place to relax with tacos and margs with your friends, family and co-workers.
What are some of your favorite items from Condado?
The two best-selling suggestion tacos are the Lucy’s Fire and Blue Dream. The queso is made fresh from 3 basic ingredients, milk, cheese and cream…and is addictive with our light and tasty chips. And we’re always introducing new Limited Time Offer items, such as our current Chicken Bacon Ranch taco and our Rainbow Chard Queso.
We update our menu quarterly in conjunction with each change of season.
What will be the hours of operation at Condado at Promenade?
At our new location at Promenade, we will be open Sunday -Thursday 11am-11pm and Friday and Saturday 11am-12 midnight.
